‘…a musician/producer whose sonic landscapes transcend the ordinary. They weave together an avant-pop sound with romantic ambience and blend the unconventional with the sublime gracing our ears with the sound that we now know as LOUV.

‘It's giving Grimes meets FKA Twigs in energy. It's dark, mysterious, experimental and captivating…’ - Clare Mooney, Musical Director of Triple J

Power
"Electronic rhythms underpin a vocal melody, but soon the vocals are caught up in pitch-shifted rhythmic sampling. If the Björk influence wasn't already clear, the song ends with the repeated refrain "All is full of love" - but this is no cover, and I'm sure the Icelandic goddess would be glad that young female musicians are empowered to go solo in such creative directions. 'Power' indeed."
- FBi Radio’s Peter Hollo (Utility Fog)
Rain Has Come
“Redefining what a ‘remix’ can be, Rain Has Come sees the two artists collaborating freely whilst utilising haunting vocal samples from a MXMARS original track Regen, resulting in an exciting electro-pop track that accentuates the goose-bump evoking melodies of the original. Exploring themes of emotional suppression and release MXMARS shares that “The original single ‘Regen’ is an incantation, a hymn calling for rain. We wanted to take the rework a step further, and create an ‘emobanger’ that combines dramatic vocals and explosive percussion. We knew that we wanted the rework to be a completely new song, and it did take a life on its own.”

ABOUT
LOUV is the moniker of Naarm/Melbourne-based music producer, multidisciplinary artist, and creative director Louise McKnoulty. Her work transforms lived experience into immersive sonic and experiential worlds. Rooted in embodiment and experimentation, her practice bypasses intellect, landing in direct human experience as she explores what it means to be fully alive.
“My art gives our struggles, drives and pain a safe space to move through.” This extends into her live performances, where movement, live electronics, and performance art converge. Her body becomes a site of transformation—using embodiment as a pathway into presence, awareness, and aliveness.
As a creative director, Louise works collaboratively with depth and precision, guided by intuitive intelligence and conceptual clarity, instinctively sensing the essence of a project and elevating it to its clearest, most authentic potential. Known for her deeply attuned approach, she brings care and presence to collaboration. Her work moves between sonic, visual, and experiential worlds, spanning music, branding, fashion, moving image, live performance, and event spaces.
Her live performances have seen her share stages with Lupa J, Aphir, The Merindas, and Max Lawrence, with highlights including sold-out shows at Midsumma Festival and Melbourne Music Week. Her sets move between industrial intensity and spacious stillness, unfolding as emotional landscapes rather than linear performance.
LOUV co-founded Fem Fantasy, a queer event collective, where her practice developed through collaboration and experimentation. She also co-founded The Light Studio, a branding and creative agency, and is a recipient of the APRA Women in Music Mentorship, where she worked with Melody Forghani to reframe her relationship to success and refine her creative practice.
